I suffered from major depression and took Zoloft for three months while suffering the side effects from hell! Met a woman born and raised in India who turned me on to Essential Oils in her Ayurveda program.  Found YLEO and started using the blends Clarity and Joy while doing Biofeedback.  I was out of depression in five sessions using these oils.  The sessions took place over a two week period and the depression lifted. The brain damage I was also contending with took longer, approximately 4-6 months.  I had brain damage from small vessel breakage in the area of the brain that controls short term memory.My psychiatrist was informed of the lifting of depression and proceeded to lecture me about going off Zoloft without her knowledge.  She was skeptical of the essential oils I used and recommended I continue in 'therapy'.  So much for that!  I stayed off Zoloft for one reason, I didn't need it!!!  The depression lifted in May of '97 and with continued consistent use of essential oils and YL supplements, has not returned.The psychologist who conducted a battery of extensive psycho neuro tests in February of '97, said you have no sign of brain damage and depression, and In quote; "the tests you had in '95 must have been conducted wrong, they obviously made a mistake."  OBVIOUSLY he did not understand my use of essential oils to recover!  Not only did the tests done in '95 show brain damage and depression but the depth of the study and the results qualified me for disability both in the company I had worked for and Social Security!!! SOMEONE was OBVIOUSLY mistaken and it wasn't me!!!!! I was using Zoloft for a time but I didn't like the side effects it has so when I got my oils I started using a blend of oils called Joy  everyday over my heart. Now I use it about three times a week.  I have not used any medication for 5 months now and the doctor was commenting on how much calmer I seemed and able to handle things better. When I told him I hadn't used any medication for this time he was very surprised.  And said whatever I did to keep using it, its working!!!  - Mary

I enjoy Peace & Calming. My 2 year old daughter enjoys it, too. I put 2-3 drops on my right hand since I am left-handed, with my finger tips of my left hand a mix it clockwise three times. Using the finger tips of my left hand, I apply the oil to my forehead, temples, around my ears (jaw line), back of my neck. Then I apply any remaining oil from both hands onto my shoulders. The best part is then cupping my hands over my mouth and nose and breathing deep several times. I have also applied it to my feet as well. It depends on the number of times I apply per day. It depends on how I am feeling. I can tell when my emotions are starting to fly. When I begin feeling that my emotions are changing I apply the oil. Since Peace & Calming smells good, I do not care if I apply it and am around people, that is just one more way to introduce essential oils. I cannot give you a estimated length of time it works. I believe it depends on the individual and what they are doing at that moment. For example, I could be fine and all of a sudden myself, my daughter or someone will do something that puts me over the edge. I step back and will find my Peace & Calming and apply it. Brenda (my daughter) loves the oils. As soon as she sees me apply the oils and smelling them, she wants to smell them, too. So of coarse I let her smell. She could also use some peace and calming. I have also applied Peace & Calming to Brenda's feet. Do you have the Essential Oils Desk Reference.  It is a great reference. I am constantly using it. It is on sale right now through http://www.essentialscience.net/  I also have begun experimenting with Valor. This one is also becoming one of my favorites. In the Essential Oils Desk Reference Guide there is a section on emotions and which oils have some benefit. Looking through the list, Valor was listed for just about every emotion. I apply Valor the same way I apply Peace & Calming. And I also try to apply the Valor to my feet at the same time. I have noticed a great increase of confidence and strength to deal with day today issues.

About 1 1/2 months ago I stopped taking Prozac. I had been taking it for almost 7 months, since I began going through a divorce. I ended up getting the stomach flu about 1 1/2 months ago. I was not able to take any medication because I could not keep anything down. This meant, I could not take my Prozac. I had a strong feeling that I needed to get off the Prozac. I went through some days of withdrawal, but now I can say it was well worth it. That is when I probably used the most Peace & Calming. It helped me a great deal. My next purchase is going to be a diffuser. I believe using Peace & Calming in the diffuser will be another great way to use the oil.  - Jennifer
